Travel

Welcome to the country of love. The weather is warm, the ocean is sparkling, and the wine is flowing. After landing, drop your suitcase at the hotel and hop on a Vespa to explore. You can't visit Italy without seeing the iconic motorbike everywhere you go. It's the perfect way to traverse the woven cobblestone streets and go sightseeing. Plus, it'll make you feel like Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday.

It is a known fact - Italy is home to some of the best food on the planet (we will not be taking rebuttals on this). Most notably, Italy (Naples, specifically) is the home country of modern-day pizza. Dripping with fresh tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, cured meats, and fresh basil - authentic Italian pizza will change your life. Of course, we can't forget pasta! Nothing beats fresh homemade farfalle or "bow-tie" pasta. Fun fact, "farfalle" means butterfly in Italian. After a few rounds of pizza and paste, you'll want to cool off with a stroll through the pizza with a cone or cup of gelato.

Drink

If you think Italian food is something to write home about, wait until you try their famous beverages! First, you have to uncork a bottle or three of their iconic wines. Might we suggest the chianti? If you're more of a cocktail person, you can't go wrong with a Limoncello or Aperol Spritz. They're both bright and refreshing, perfect for sipping while admiring the views in Portifino. Italians also know their coffee and are famous for their cappuccinos. From morning to midnight, you can sip your way through iconic Italian flavors.

Now that you're caffeinated and have a full belly let's go sightseeing! There is much to see, so we hope you have comfortable shoes. Let's start in Rome, or Roma, and visit the Coliseum. Completed in 80AD, this iconic amphitheater is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. Next, let's head to Venice and take a romantic Gondola ride through the city. We'll see the Rialto Bridge, the oldest bridge across the Grand Canal. Next we can spend some time in Florence, where we'll shop in the Ponte Vecchio. Last, we'll travel to Capri, an island of the coast of Naples famous for its goats, to lounge at one of the luxurious resorts there.

I know we're on vacation, but Italy is home to some of Europe's most impressive art and architecture, so let's enrich ourselves with the culture and history while we're here. Saint Peter's Bascilica is the centerpiece of Vatican City and is a must-see. The Vatican is technically its own country inside of Italy, making it the smallest nation in the world, and it is located inside of Rome. Rome isn't the only city in Italy to house famous works. When in Florence, visit the Galleria dell'Accademia, to see Michelangelo's David. This colossal statue is over 17 feet high and is one of the most famous pieces to come out of the Renaissance.
